The problem
The different users were landing on data analytics platform to either react to the problems faced within their digital products (platforms, websites, mobile applications) or to improve their user engagement. Although, and because the platform was built over time by engineers the different B2B users — managers, data scientists, data analytics or UX designers — weren’t able to identify the right journeys paths to take within the data platform and identify correctly their users' issues, because of the mixup information architecture. The way users were using the data platfrom was also constrained by their level of maturity in gathering data.

The challenge
Having only gather data in collaboration with data scientists or software engineers, and with a lack of knowledge in extracting data herself, it made Ana learnt about the software in collaboration with the data science team in order to provide improvements. In addition to that, Ana faced the challenge of managing and attributing the design tasks and deciding what the priorities were within the product team, as well as mentoring a junior UX engineer (with an engineering background) and being hand on.

With the deadlines set, Ana did not have the chance to fully follow the desired design thinking process to deeply understand the users, which made Ana only deliver opportunities for improvement, together with a flow chart of a potential journey for the dashboard to be followed by the different users' types.
